Social Studies Essay: New Forms Of Defense

1. World  war  1  was  a war of  many  firsts.It  was  also  the  beginning  of  the  United  States  becoming  a  world  superpower  where  defense  helped effect  the  war.The  three  and  things  that  affected  the war  was  weapons, warfare  and communications.
2. Weapons that  was  used in  the  war was chlorine, u-boats and  flamethrower.Chlorine  was  used  by  germans  and  it was a smokescreen  that enemy’s  smelled   and  died.Chlorine is  important  it killed enemy’s with them not being there.The  British and  the germans  used u-boats to destroy enemy’s.U-boats are  important  because  the  first  submarine.The  french  and  british  soldiers  used it  threw flames at  the  enemy.Flamethrower was important because it helps when theres close battle.    
3. The  warfare  used  Zeppelin,Tanks  and  Planes.Zeppelin  were  used by  flying  in  the  air dropping  bombs on the enemy.Zeppelin is not  really  important because now we use drones to fly past enemy ground and drop bombs and drones are faster.Tanks  were used to go into enemy ground easily.Planes were used to deliver bombs and carry machine guns.Planes are used today to fly people other places to visit familys.Tanks are still important because they are still in use. Communication  used  mirrors,contact patrols and dogs.Mirrors was important to  the war effort to detect enemy’s  with them not knowing.We  use mirrors today because when people drive they use mirrors to communicate.Contact patrol  was important to the war effort to carry messages between headquarters.We do not use that today because we have better technology.Dogs was important to the war effort it helped people in the war.Dogs are used today to help handicaps and people with  disability.
